Local firefighters join the battle to fight Wenatchee Compex Fire

TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- The Wenatchee Complex Fire may be hundreds of miles away, but it's not stopping local firefighters from pitching in to help.

60 firefighters from the Tri-Cities are battling the Wenatchee Complex and Table Mountain Fires.

They were called in after the fires became too big to control.

The first crew arrived back home Monday morning

"You want to help your brothers and sisters in times of need," says Lt. Raymond Newton, Benton Fire District Four. "It's a big family, so it's good to help"

Firefighters tell us their efforts have been hampered by thick forest trees.

Some estimates say the fires won't be totally put out until late October.
