Lowe's donates upgrade to Kennewick Boys and Girls Club
KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Boys and Girls Club Music and Art Center in Downtown Kennewick looks a little nicer today after a national chain stepped in to help them out.
Lowe's of Kennewick painted the center's columns and trim a fresh shade of blue.
The restroom facilities also got an upgrade.
New flooring and toilets, upgraded sinks, mirrors, faucets and knobs as well as new artwork: all donated by the national home improvement chain as part of a partnership to improve Boys and Girls Club of America all over the country.
Music and Arts director Josh Peterson said the construction only took a few days but the reaction has been immediate,
"Once this was done the members saw the bathrooms and were all like 'oh my gosh, these bathrooms look amazing.' They like going in there and its beautiful and inside and it's really nice for them to have these here at our facility."
Peterson said this particular location is special because it's the only Boys and Girls Club of America location specifically dedicated to music and the arts.
