A man is now behind bars after deputies say he started a brush fire with fireworks in Benton County.

Just before 2 AM this morning, Benton County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Locust Grove and South Clodfelter Roads south of Badger Mountain to investigate the cause of a 10-acre brush fire.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with 43-year-old Michael Burges, who was found parked in a car nearby.

Burges was allegedly lighting off fireworks, and deputies say he caught the field on fire.

He was arrested for DUI.
