Man in custody after standoff in Finley
FINLEY, Wash. —
Benton County Sheriff Office deputies took a man into custody Saturday night after a standoff in Finley that lasted around an hour.
According to BCSO, the incident took place at a home on the 21000 block of Finley Road. Deputies responded around 6:30 P.M. to the area. =
Officials say Daniel James, 44, returned home while intoxicated and started arguing with the other occupants.
He then allegedly went into a bedroom and came back out with a shotgun, which he then reportedly pointed at the occupants.
BCSO says one of the occupants got into a scuffle with James and managed to get the shotgun away from him. They then left the home.
Law enforcement, including BCSO, Kennewick Police and West Richland Police, responded to the area and hailed James to come out for about an hour.
He eventually came out and was taken into custody without incident around 8:40 P.M.
BCSO says the home’s occupants were unharmed. No shots were fired.
James was booked for assault 2nd degree.
