Mobile market is distributing free food Thursday
RICHLAND, Wash. – Second Harvest is helping fight summer hunger with their Mobile Market on Thursday, Aug. 3.
The free food distribution is open to the public and no documentation or appointment is necessary. They’ll be giving away fresh produce, bread, and even beef. Everything will be free.
Michele Roth, the community impact director from Second Harvest said this year they’re also adding a nutritional education element to the market.
“We do fun, educational hands on exhibits with kids, we include a recipe with items they are getting in the distribution,” she said. “We do sampling and tomorrow they'll be doing a cold salad using pears from the distribution.”
Second Harvest welcomes all families in need of food. The free mobile market is Thursday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church located at 4555 Arena Road in Richland.
They ask you to please bring a box or bag for food. For more information you can call (509) 627-4844.
