Name released of Yakima man who died in Pasco police custody
PASCO, Wash.-- The name of the 35-year-old Yakima man who died in Pasco police custody has been released.
The Franklin County Coroner tells Action News Ismael Maria-Acevedo's autopsy was performed Monday morning. The results came back inconclusive and they are now waiting on toxicology results.
Police say Maria-Acevedo ran from a large fight police were breaking up at a Gold Nugget Night Club.
Police found him and during his arrest, officers say he collapsed and died. They say 15 people were involved in the fight, but there was no sign Maria-Acevedo was seriously hurt.
Investigators also say no guns, tazers, or spray were used and maintain there's no sign of excessive force during his arrest.
