New Kennewick elementary school appoints a principal
KENNEWICK, Wash. - An under-construction Kennewick elementary school has found a principal.
The Kennewick School Board named Chad Foltz as the future principal of the new Elementary #16 being constructed in the Clearwater Creek development.
Foltz has served as Cascade Elementary's principal since 2008, according to an October 11 press release from Kennewick School District (KSD).
The release said Cascade excelled academically under Foltz, when the school earned the School Achievement Award as well as a Washington Achievement Award in 2012. He began teaching at Horse Heaven Hills Middle School in 1995 and has spent nearly all of his years in education at KSD.
“I am honored to prepare Elementary #16 for the first students, families and staff who will walk through its doors. My goal is to make this new school a place of high academic achievement the whole community can be proud of,” Foltz said in a statement.
District leaders said the school is set to open in August of 2018. More information on the new school build can be found on the KSD website.
