New Pasco police facility may come cheaper

PASCO, Wash. -- Plans for a new police facility have been in the works for years, but a $14 million price tag was not realistic. The city is now looking into a smaller project.

Pasco is spending nearly $25,000 to have architects redesign the proposed facility and reduce its size by about 8,000 square feet. This could save $6 million - and the cost could be covered with the crime tax, which you already pay for.

Staff hope the new police station can start construction in less than a year.
