New police substation opening in Pasco

PASCO, Wash. -- You'll soon notice an added police presence in downtown Pasco.

A new substation will go into the corner of Third and Lewis.

At least one officer would be based out of the mini station, while several others would use it as a staging ground for patrols.

KEPR learned the current police station is near capacity, so an extra station was needed to hold everyone.

Pasco PD has already owned space in the building, so costs for the new substation are minimal.

It should be up and running just after Thanksgiving.
