Operation Candy Cane food drive returns this Saturday

Food items can be dropped off at Fire Station 420, located at 2604 Bombing Range Rd West Richland, WA.{ }

RICHLAND- Wash. - Benton County Fire Protection District #4 firefighters, will be roaming the street on Saturday, December 16th, for their 16th Annual Operation Candy Cane, food drive.

Firefighters will drive across West Richland neighborhoods, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. in fully lighted fire trucks, handing out candy canes in exchange for canned food items.

Items collected will be sent to Catholic Charities to provide for families in need in our local area.

Fire Chief, Bill Whealan said, "It is the most amazing event I have ever been apart of, the kids absolutely love coming up to the firefighters and getting the candy cane, and giving the food knowing their going to help out other people in the community that may need it...its just an amazing event."

If you miss the event or want to donate at any time, firefighters at District #4 invite you to drop off any non-perishable items until Sunday, December 17th.

Firefighters will take different routes and start simultaneously, beginning at 6 P.M.

Fern Loop, Deer, 61st, Jamison, 60th, Gray, 59th, 58th

Route #3

Elmwood, Blackwood, Kilawea, Diamond Head, Kona, Crab Apple Circle, Kona
