Park improvements on the way for Richland

RICHLAND - KEPR discovered that some major park improvements are coming to Richland thanks to the Parks Partnership Program.

The major projects are a new shaded area for the Richland dog park and track improvements to the Columbia Basin BMX track. Both projects cost about five-grand. The other major project is 25-hundred bucks going to riverbank restoration along the Riverfront Trail.

"There are no trees here except for the yearling they planted, and it will take 5 years for them to mature," said Robert Aranowski who frequents the park. "It's getting pretty darn hot here in the summertime, especially July and August so we could use an artificial sun-sceen or some sort."

Many of the park improvements hope to complete for the summer.
