Pasco Farmer's Market opens for the season

PASCO - Another indication that we're inching closer to summer?Pasco's Farmer's Market is now open for the season.

Dozens of venders gathered Saturday and Sunday to kick off the season. They offered everything from fruits and veggies to fresh bread. We're told asparagus was one of the biggest items.

Fresh strawberries were also high in demand mainly because of increased frost this season. One vendor told us that berries were flying off the shelves.

"They went all winter without them. They've had to buy them at the grocery store. But now they get to have some fresh ones I picked yesterday. We're all sold out now. People were very excited to see them," said market vendor Terryl Aichele.

The market will run through the end of October. You can stop by Wednesday mornings, Saturdays and Sundays. The Richland and Southridge farmers market will *also begin in a few weeks.
