Pasco police get a new set of wheels to better protect public events

PASCO, Wash. – Pasco police have acquired a new set of wheels, but not your typical cop car.

Pasco police received two free ATVs from surplus military equipment.

After giving them a little TLC to get them back to good running order, the squad recently spent time training officers on how to use them safely.

"We anticipate we’ll use them during special events whether it be the boat races, parades downtown or we could use them for any specialized event that an ATV is a little easier to get around than say a patrol car," Sgt. Scott Warren said.

Pasco police said they're lucky to add these tools to their arsenal to keep public events safe
