Pasco police respond to report of a person with a gun at high school
PASCO, Wash. - [Update, 7:10 p.m.] A lockdown is lifted at Pasco High School after police responded to threats at the school.
Police were at Pasco High School Thursday afternoon after it was reported there was a person with a gun at the school. This report has yet to be confirmed.
Action News has learned the school administrator placed the high school on lockdown, locking all doors in the building.
All students have safely evacuated, according to Shane Edinger, Public Affairs Director with the school district. Not many students were in the building as this incident was occurring after school hours.
Edinger said there was a man on campus near the baseball field making threats. No additional details on the threats are available at this time.
An Incoming Freshman Information Session that was scheduled for Thursday evening has been rescheduled to an undetermined later date.
[UPDATE, 6:30 p.m.] All events for Pasco High School have now been cancelled, according to district leaders.
Investigators are at the school checking all rooms in the building to ensure the scene is safe. Once cleared, leaders said they will let students back in the school.
