Pasco ranked among top cities in Washington for homeownership

      CITY OF PASCO NEWS RELEASE -- NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website, recently conducted a study to find the best places for homeownership in Washington - and Pasco made the list.

      As renting becomes less affordable, NerdWallet wanted to give potential homebuyers a look at the current housing market. NerdWallet based its rankings on the following criteria

      Homeownership rate

      Selected monthly homeowner costs

      Monthly household income

      Population growth

      NerdWallet ranked Pasco as the 15th best place in Washington for homeownership. The city has a homeownership rate of 62.7 percent, and median monthly homeowner costs are $1,264. Pasco's population grew by 10.9 percent between 2010 and 2012.

      Other Washington cities that made the list include Richland, Burien, and Bonney Lake. Read the full study at:
