Paws-abilities Place Dog Park to celebrate re-opening
RICHLAND, Wash. -- There are now new Paws-abilities for our four legged friends in Richland!
Tomorrow's grand re-opening of the dog park at Badger Mountain Community Park celebrates a long-awaited remodel of the play area.
The park closed in September and just opened back up in June. It is a place that families with pets rely on because it's the only off-leash dog area in the Tri-Cities.
"We closed it for six months to restore the sod,” explained Phil Pinard with Richland Parks and Recreation. “Instead of having to close it now, what we'll do is we'll rotate the use and the goal is that we won't have to close it for sod restoration every year. "
The new Paws-abilities Place Dog Park consists of 1.5 acres for large dogs and 0.4 acres for smaller dogs to socialize and swim.
