Police arrest man suspected of holding women hostage

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Walla Walla police said they arrested the man suspected of kidnapping two women Thursday morning.

Officers said they took Kyle Jamerson into custody without incident near the intersection of University and Stanton Streets in Walla Walla.

WALLA WALLA POLICE DEPT. NEWS RELEASE -- Two Walla Walla women were held hostage early this morning by a shotgun wielding suspect who has been identified as Kyle Jamerson, 27. Jamerson's whereabouts are unknown at this time and he is believed to be armed with a hand gun. Anyone who knows where he may be is urged to call 911 and not to approach him.

The incident was reported to police shortly after 6:00 a.m. today when the women ended up at a local hospital. The women had been to Jamerson's apartment last night, when he became enraged and produced a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun and threatening them. After some time had passed, one of the women became ill and they all went to the hospital. Jamerson, who still had possession of the weapon, remained in the vehicle near the ER entrance to the hospital and the women went inside where a call was made to 911. Officers arriving at the hospital found Jamerson's unoccupied pickup and the shotgun.

Jamerson is wanted for Kidnapping 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of an Unlawful Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Jamerson is approximately 6'1", 160 lbs, dark hair, scar across his left cheek, and "King" tattooed across the back of his neck. He may be driving an older Ford pickup or late 80's to early 90's blue Cadillac.
