Power outage makes pink water in Kennewick

KENNEWICK - It was a surprising sight for east Kennewick residents this morning. Pouring themselves a glass of pink water.

That's exactly what several people reported. Even toilet water flushed pink.

Officials say it was caused by a power outage at the plant. When the power was restored, a trap door was left open. It released non-harmful chemicals.

Officials are working to clear the water. And they tell us it's safe to drink.
