Prosser man to spend 27 years in prison for producing child porn

PROSSER, Wash. - A former Granger teacher from Prosser is sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph Harrington announced 28-year-old Stephen Jeffrey Castilleja was sentenced Tuesday, Oct. 31 for the production of child porn.

Court documents said Castilleja will serve 27 years in prison which will be followed by a lifetime of court supervision after his release.

He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Castijella was employed as a first grade teacher in Granger for more than two years.

He admitted to possessing and producing child pornography and one of the videos investigators found depicted a victim in the school where Castilleja taught.

Castilleja had access to these children through his job at the school and his family.

The Southeast Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Homeland Security investigations, Kennewick police and Benton County sheriff's deputies all worked on this case, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
