Record year for Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers

TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- KEPR learned the Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers program is on tap for a record year.

The anonymous tips program has already led to 56 arrests this year.

At that rate, crime stoppers will have more arrests than ever before.

Despite the success, only $950 worth of rewards have been handed out.

Police say people often don't care about money when a crime has happened.

Kennewick Police tell us they've caught everyone from drug dealers to assault suspects.

Crime Stoppers now averages more than one tip a day.
