Reporter accused of threat on Ams player

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- The Tri-City Herald reports a woman from Canada is accused of threatening her boyfriend, who is a current player for the Tri-City Americans.

Tieja MacLaughlin, 25, is facing felony charges. The paper says she threatened Jackson Playfair. Playfair was recently traded to the Ams. The Herald cites court documents which said MacLaughlin told her boyfriend she was on her way to Kennewick and he would "be dead by the end of the night." The article says MacLaughlin was upset to learn Playfair had dated someone else.

MacLaughlin calls herself a freelance news and sports reporter in British Columbia.
