Richland neighborhood wants to build wall to separate from apartment complex

RICHLAND, Wash. -- KEPR is Continuing coverage on the apartment complex that's set for Richland off Keene Road. Neighbors across the street from the construction couldn't stop the complex from going up... so now they are trying to build a wall.

People in Applewood Estates settled with the city of Richland for about $100,000 towards their home owners association. Neighbors want to spend the money on an eight-foot stone wall along Westcliffe, in hopes of more privacy and quiet. But Richland only allows 6ft. walls.

One neighbor tells KEPR, "To be insulated from the traffic... "

The adjustment board is meeting Thursday night to make a final decision on the wall.
