Richland police looking for suspect in Kohl's robbery

RICHLAND, Wash. -- Richland police are looking for a 30-year-old Kennewick man who they say robbed the Kohl's on Tapteal Drive Thursday morning.

Officers say an employee confronted Daniel Hafer after catching him shoplifting just before noon. The employee said Hafer claimed to have a gun but never showed one. Hafer then fled on foot.

Hafer is described as being 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen in the area of Columbia Center Boulevard and

Richland Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at the Richland Kohl's on Tapteal Drive. On 4/24/14 at 11:53 AM, a male later identified as Daniel Hafer, was observed by a Kohl's employee shoplifting store merchandise. He attempted to leave the store without paying for the items and was confronted by the employee. Hafer fled on foot and the employee followed. Hafer told the employee that he had a gun but none was displayed. Hafer was last seen in the area of Columbia Center Blvd. and Fowler Street.

Hafer is wanted for second-degree robbery. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Benton County Emergency Services at (509) 628-0333.
