Second Harvest Mobile food market, tomorrow
RICHLAND, Wash.- In honor of international credit union day, Gesa members partnered with Second Harvest to host a mobile food bank in six different regions in eastern Washington, including Richland.
Over 30,000 pounds of food was distributed to hungry people throughout the community, thanks to generous donations from area farmers and local businesses.
Leaders from second harvest said it's important they distribute fresh produce and deliver high quality nutritious food for those in need.
They said hunger is a big problem in the area and one-in-ten people do not have enough to eat including one-in-five kids.
Food distribution is open to the public, with no appointment or documentation needed but you are asked to please bring a box or bags for your food.
