Snake River parks closing early this year

WASHINGTON -- If you want to spend some time along the Snake River this fall, it will be a bit harder to find a spot. Budgets cuts have forced several recreation areas to close early this year.

Earlier this year, the army corp budget was slashed by half a million dollars. KEPR was told the areas weren't getting enough visitors to support the maintenance costs. Boat launches will still be available, but outdoor lovers don't like the idea of the closures.

One visitor explains, "I don't think i'd be a good idea, I've never really been out here before and it's an awesome place to be. The campground looks like it'd be fun."

This is yet another example of park areas being closed because of budget cuts.
