Spiders increase across the Tri-Cities

TRI-CITIES - The number of spiders is up across the country. Here in the Tri-Cities we're also seeing a big increase.

Local pest technicians tell KEPR the mild winters and June rain caused the local outbreak.

And it's not just spiders -- these technicians say they're seeing more rodents, wasps and termites.

The hot spots are river-front homes.

You can take simple steps without paying someone to come out and spray.

"But they like to enter the same way we enter. So, doors - make sure your doors are shut, right. Make sure you have screens on your windows," said Pest Technician Richard Lucas.

Try to also keep shrubs at least a foot away from your house.
