When deputies arrived they learned that the residence had been forcibly burglarized. Officers from WA State Fish and Wildlife, Adams County Sheriff's Office, and Connell Police Department assisted in attempting to locate the suspects. A K-9 officer attempted to track the two men for about three hours.
Hours later, deputies found and arrested Ernesto Garduno-Garcia nearby. Garduno matched the description of one of the two men and was in possession of property taken from the residence.
He was booked into the Franklin County Jail. Deputies seized the suspect vehicle which is suspected to contain more stolen property.
Garduno-Garcia was charged with Residential Burglary and Possessing Stolen Property. The Adams County Sheriff's Office also plans on charging him with possession of a controlled substance.
At about 5:00 p.m. Deputies from the Adams County Sheriff's Office located and detained the second suspect, Alejandro Gonzalez-Salazar, who had been seen walking along the side of highway 17.
Gonzalez-Salazar was later interviewed by Franklin County Deputies before being booked into the Franklin County Jail for burglary.
