15 officers from the Tri-Cities Regional SWAT Team and Benton County Sheriff's Office took part. They performed mock hostage rescue scenarios and negotiated with hostage takers. Every month they train at different places. The commander told us vacant buildings like CREHST provide for better training.
"Happens to be one of the buildings that's vacant, we try and take advantage of different venues, gives us an opportunity to get different looks at different buildings, creates a different situation for us each time," said Jon Law with Benton County Sheriff's Office.
You might see the team out there into the evening.
