Tri-City Half Marathon attracts 800

RICHLAND - Neither wind--- or freezing temperatures were enough to keep people from running the big Tri-Cities half marathon this morning.

That's what 800 people did today! Several of our anchors made it down to the event. Terry Chick even gave the countdown for the race.

It was all for a good cause, too! Money from the event went to the March for Babies organization

Participants say it was more than worth it.

"I'm so excited! Because I love to run, and this is a good cause and it just feels so good to be here so early in the cold. We love it," said race participant Angie Alcoser.

Event organizers tell us they hope to attract two-to-three thousand runners in the years to come.
