Trios Health Board Votes to File for Bankruptcy
Kennewick, Wash. -- The Trios Health Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Thursday evening to file for Chapter 9 Bankruptcy but could not offer any comment on the move.
Trios Health officials say they cannot offer any comment on the matter until after their attorneys officially file the proper paperwork.
Trios Health officials did assure Action News that the hospital, and its facilities, will continue operations in Kennewick.
Chapter 9 bankruptcy is designated for municipalities like cities, taxing districts (like hospitals), and school districts.
Chapter 9 can be utilized to extend the timeline for repayment and allow for the refinance of debt.
We will continue to follow this developing story.
