Two injured in State Route 240 car crash

RICHLAND, Wash. - Two are injured after a Dodge Ram struck a barrier and crossed over to the wrong way at State Route 240 and Airport Way.

Troopers from Washington State Patrol (WSP) said Patricia Orem, 31, of Richland was driving a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup around 1:56 a.m. Thursday when she hit a Jersey barrier and swerved from westbound lanes to the eastbound lanes.

Israel Davis, 22, of Kennewick was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu in the eastbound lanes when he collided with the pickup according to reports.

Police said both drivers were injured and taken to Kadlec Medical Center and both vehicles were totaled and towed away.

Richland Police Department is investigating the cause of this accident and have determined that drugs or alcohol were a factor.

WSDOT officials said the eastbound lanes at milepost 31 were closed for approximately two hours.
