Umatilla corrections officer appears in court for child sex crimes
BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – The corrections officer arrested for being accused of sending explicit text messages to a 13-year old girl is now facing five charges, plus, his wife is also facing similar charges.
Roy David Farber, 31, is a corrections officer at the Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla.
He made his first court appearance in Benton County Superior Court on Friday.
He's facing one charge of sexual exploitation of a minor, three charges of possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct in the 2nd degree, and one charge for communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
Kennewick police detectives said Farber gave a 13-year old girl from Kennewick a secret cell phone and the two sent explicit text messages to one another, including pictures.
Officers said the parents of the girl found the phone and turned it over to police.
Officers arrested Farber earlier this week and searched his home, confiscating computers and cell phones for additional evidence.
His wife, Kimberlee Anne Farber, is also charged with communication with a minor for immoral purposes and will appear in court at the end of the month.
