USTA tennis tournament arrives to Tri-Cities
RICHLAND, Wash. - Players from all over the Pacific Northwest and Alaska will be competing for the United States Tennis Association tournament for the first time at Howard Amon park and the Tri-Citie court club.
Staff member, Adam Hrebeniuk said "They've competed for along period of time on several different tournaments beating out their competition to get to this final tournament."
Tournament Director, Elece Fiocchi said the event is expected to bring over 500 visitors including coaches, players and spectators, and believes the event will generate 99,000 dollars in visitor spending to the local area.
"It represents something significant in the United States that the Tri-Cities area is known to be a place where people come and play tennis and love the sport of tennis," said Hrebeniuk.
All participants will be getting a trophy and the winners will advance to a national tournament at nationals.
