Walmart makes grocery shopping easier than ever
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Walmart rolled out their new grocery pickup service over a week ago. Today, we put it to the test.
After placing an order using the Walmart App, customers head to the pickup stalls of the parking lot and call the posted number.
A Walmart associate then brings the grocery items straight to your car, so you don't even have to leave your seat. They load up your trunk, you sign a receipt and you're headed home with a car full of groceries.
"We've spent time training our associates to only pick the freshest products,” explained Kennewick Walmart Store Manager Alisha Jones. “We have organic products. Maybe at this time of year you might want to get some back to school items. So, you can get your general merchandise items as well, shampoo, the different things that you need. "
Same day orders can be made until 1 p.m., otherwise shoppers can pre-select a time slot on a different day. The program is now active at both Kennewick and Richland locations.
