West Richland police investigating 13-year-old's death as suicide
WEST RICHLAND, Wash. -- The West Richland Police Department are investigating the death of a 13-year-old boy as a suicide.
According to police, the student at Enterprise Middle School died Saturday night of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. When officers responded to North 60th Street around 7 p.m., they tried to revive the boy but were unsuccessful.
Police say the boy's family was shocked by his death.
Enterprise Middle School brought in a counselor Monday to meet with students and staff. The school also plans to send a letter about the incident home with students.
