Windy weather causing headaches throughout area

TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Sunday's winds caused headaches for residents all over our area, including the Tri-Cities.

Viewers sent Action News pictures of collapsed gazebos, overturned trampolines, and run-away swimming pools.

All courtesy of strong gusts of wind.

In Richland's Fred Meyer's parking lot, Sheena Kerr said she was loading groceries into her truck when the wind hit the lift-gate just right.

It shattered the window and sent glass flying.

Thankfully no one was injured.

West Richland police said the Tri-Cities area is growing fast, and folks new to the area might not know they need to secure their outdoor items.

They suggest storing an item indoors if you can't guarantee it will stay put in the wind.
