Woman allegedly stole neighbor's cat, suffocated it on operating table
MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- A Milwaukie woman was arrested on suspicion of aggravated animal abuse after police said they found a suffocated cat on a makeshift operating table at her home.
Ashley F. Guldager, 21, is accused of stealing her neighbor's cat and killing it by asphyxiation, according to a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office news release.
The bizarre case surfaced on April 22, when deputies spoke with one of Guldager's neighbors who reported that her cat, 9-year-old Mama Kitty, went missing three days earlier.
Deputies learned that other witnesses had found the dead cat on a makeshift operating table inside Guldager's home and that the cat's body had been tampered with, the news release said.
Deputies went to the home in the 1900 block of Southeast Sunnyslope Road. There, they found the cat strapped to the table with jumper cables. On the table was a wet sponge, scissors, kitchen knife, plastic razor and a cigarette butt. There were also chemicals at the scene, deputies said.

It appeared Guldager had partially shaved the cat, as well, the news release said.
Guldager was taken into custody and booked in jail on $100,000 bail. She was also referred for a mental health evaluation.
