WSU Tri-Cities gets new Nursing Building

RICHLAND, Wash. - Wazzu Tri-Cities is looking to offer more opportunities for nursing students in our area and thanks to a new building in Richland, they now have the space.

it is located at the corner of Lee and Goethals and was formerly a Rite-Aid. Kadlec bought it and leased it to WSU Tri-Cities for a dollar a month. The total cost was 3 million dollars with nearly all came donations.

"By growing our own here, more and more, it's going to support the healthcare industry in the Tri-Cities region and that is one of the larger industries we have, so it's an important part of our economy going forward," said WSU Tri-Cities Regent member, Fran Forgette.

Staff say there is currently a waiting list to get into the nursing program. There are only 48 spots available, but the program hopes to expand in the future.
