Yakima River floods nearby Richland roadways
RICHLAND, Wash. – Richland police and residents are asking drivers to avoid the area of Kingston Road and Hyde Road.
There is significant flooding and moving water across roadways as well as water filling up area properties.
The City of Richland streets department came out to place signage and barricades in the affected areas.
Residents who called in the flood say this is not the first time the water has damaged their property and it won’t be the last.
"It happens every year and we live with it, year after year,” said resident Rodney “Tiny” MacHugh. “Just please don't come down and tear up our roads."
Police say as reminder please do not drive across flooded roadways, especially with fast moving water, as it is very dangerous.
