A jury found John Young guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting of 17-year-old Josh Snapp near the Horn Rapids ORV park.
Prosecutors said Young and 20-year-old Josh Hunt planned to kill Snapp and took turns shooting him in the head.
Young claimed that Hunt alone planned the murder and that he was afraid of Hunt.
Hunt was convicted of second-degree murder in Snapp's death and was sentenced to 23 years in prison earlier this year.
Young had been offered a plea deal before his trial but declined. Hunt had also been charged with premeditated murder, but a jury convicted him on the second degree charge.
Prosecutors say the two boys were upset over a drug debt and thought Snapp was a snitch. The defense tried to portray Young as a good kid who was forced into an act by Hunt.
Young could face up to 32 years in prison. It would be broken down by 20-25 years as a recommended sentence for the murder and an additional seven years for a weapons conviction.
