FairTax hosts 4th Congressional District candidate forum

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- It may be months away, but over a dozen people are preparing for election time, when for the first time in two decades Doc Hastings' name won't be on the ballot.

Instead, at least 14 others will be vying for your vote to represent the 4th District in Congress. Tuesday night, one of the first forums in the Tri-Cities was held by the group FairTax.

We've all heard the saying, "The only constants in life are death and taxes," and it was the latter that had this group up in arms. Four candidates and one representative were ready to tackle the questions presented by local FairTax members, a group aimed at replacing all federal income taxes with a flat 23 percent sales tax.

These are the highlights.
