First Hanford contractor lay-offs felt

HANFORD, Wash. -- More than 150 Hanford workers have stepped up and volunteered to be laid off. There were plans to cut 450 positions across three contractors.

CH2M Hill says 44 of their workers agreed to voluntary lay-offs. They expect that number could double.

Mission Support Alliance approved 35 voluntary layoffs.

Washington River Protection solutions approved 82.

Both union and non-union jobs are seeing lay-offs.
