Franklin County showing off new home for sheriff's office

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. -- Franklin County is showing off its new Sheriff's Department.

The office is attached to the new Franklin County Justice Center. It is about three times the size of the old office. It has have special interview rooms for suspects, plenty of space for evidence and guns, and even a gym.

Franklin County Sheriff Richard Lathim says the new building will help with efficiency.

"You know we were kind of disjointed, we were on two different floors over there. So now we're back on one floor and I think it will be better for operations," said Lathim. "It's good for morale, but the bottom line is this is a good facility to help us better serve our citizens."

Municipal court workers will move in next week. The office and courtrooms are located below the new Sheriff's Office.
