More skipping out on jury duty

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- People skipping out on jury duty continues to be a problem each year. In the past year, over 5,000 people failed to show up in Benton County.

Most just didn't even respond to a summons. About a thousand said they'd come but never showed. Benton County says this is a criminal offense. They send letters to the criminal office but no one has ever been charged. The clerk keeps track of no-shows and expects about of quarter of those summoned won't reply. Franklin County did not get back to us with its numbers.
