Mother and daughter hit by pickup in Richland crosswalk

RICHLAND, Wash. -- A mother is in a Seattle hospital after she and her daughter were hit in a Richland crosswalk.

They were crossing at McMurray and Everest around 8 o'clock Thursday night. A driver in his late 70s hit the two, tossing them across the street.

The mother has a broken pelvis, but, due to privacy laws, we don't know anything more about her or her condition. Her daughter was able to remain at a local hospital for treatment.

The driver was cited for failure to yield. It's unknown how fast he was going.
