OSP investigating death of two ODOT workers

MORROW COUNTY, Oreg. -- KEPR learned another worker died while on a road project in Oregon.

That's two accidental deaths just this week. 64 year old Glenn McCoy was run over by another worker while installing rumble strips on Interstate 84.

The two accidents happened about 25 miles apart. The most recent one was west of Boardman.

Earlier this week, an ODOT worker was hit and killed by a dump truck while on a chip sealing project near Echo.

Oregon State Police are investigating both accidents.

"Fortunately, it's rare you see these types of incidents that occur and they're both unique in their own way. So it's something I'm sure ODOT and the construction companies will see what they can learn from it while we finish up our investigation," says Lt. Greg Hastings.

Each project was temporarily on hold while Police finished gathering information.
