Khalyn King was born in Seattle and raised in Everett and Marysville Washington. She was introduced to broadcast television in high school, where she had the opportunity to be a host on their local television show, present morning announcements to the school, and play a lead role in their high school movie.
Her passion for creating innovative and powerful stories led her to the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication and specialized in broadcast journalism, and has a minor in sport management.
At Washington State, she was a part of Murrow News 8 and covered Pac-12 football games, election coverage locally and nationally, and breaking news around Whitman County.
