2 new confirmed cases of coronavirus found in Tri-Cities area

TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- Benton-Franklin Health District (BFHD) was notified Thursday that two more local residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials say one case is a Franklin County man in his 40s who is recovering at home.

The other new case is a Benton County man in his 70s with underlying health conditions who is currently hospitalized.

Health officials announced the first death from the coronavirus on Wednesday. A Richland woman in her 80s died from coronavirus. It was the second case announced in our region and the first known death from the virus.

On Tuesday, officials announced the first ever known case of coronavirus in the Tri-Cities.
