With so many people off from school or work in light of the coronavirus, folks are getting to enjoy the great outdoors.
Governor Jay Inslee temporarily shut down entertainment and recreational facilities including gyms Monday.
Now, trails all over the Tri-Cities are packed with people looking to get their workout in.
"All the gym facilities are closed down, and we're not trying to get out of shape,” Anna Trejo said.
According to people that frequent Badger Mountain, the number of people hiking in the middle of a weekday is abnormal.
"I never see it this busy except on weekends,” said Tom Miller.
Richland park ranger Jason Janosky said people are also frequenting lesser-known parks and trails around town. He said he's seen people practicing social distancing while they exercise.
