LYONS, Ore. – Deputies identified two people Tuesday who were found dead in the community of Lyons, Oregon after the fast-moving Beachie Creek Fire swept through the area last week.

Justin Cook, 41, and Cathy Cook, 71, were both located near their property on North Fork Lane Southeast, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Search and rescue teams located the Cooks on Friday however, they were unable to recover them because of treacherous conditions.

As of Tuesday, there have been four confirmed deaths from the wildfires in Marion County.

Last Wednesday, fire crews found a 13-year-old boy and his 71-year-old grandmother deceased inside of a vehicle. Wyatt Tofte and Peggy Mosso were also from Lyons.

One person is still considered missing from the fires. Deputies are working with search and rescue teams to find the person.

If you wish to report someone as missing, you can contact the Marion County non-emergency dispatch line at (503) 588-5032.

Lyons was lowered from a Level 3 “GO” to a Level 2 “BE SET” evacuation order on Tuesday, as was part of the nearby community of Mehama.

The sheriff’s office said that people should be prepared for hazards as they are allowed to return to areas impacted by the wildfires.

“Firefighters, local governments, utility companies, and road departments begin restoring fire damaged areas as soon as they can, but making the area safe for the public can take multiple days,” the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said. "Stay out of the evacuation area until fire officials tell you it is safe to return. It is extremely important to be aware of the hazards and know what to look for when the evacuation order is lifted."
